President, National Workers Unity Centre

Although women workers play a key role in our garment sector, they face wage discrimination. Women are paid less than men for the same work. While government jobs provide six months of maternity leave, the garment industry provides only four months. It is essential to eliminate this disparity, as it hinders women’s professional advancement. Women’s representation in trade unions and federations in Bangladesh is very limited. Although many federations have the position of women’s affairs secretary, it cannot effectively protect women’s interests.

Who We Are

The National Workers Unity Centre is dedicated to championing the rights, safety, and dignity of workers across Bangladesh. With a strong focus on empowering women garment workers, we strive to foster equality, fair treatment, and better opportunities in the workplace. Through advocacy, education, and community support, we aim to build a future where every worker’s voice is heard and valued.
